Super Model Actor Sam Sarpong and Vanessa Curry spotted in Beverly Hills

On Wednesday, December 5, 2012, supermodel and actor Sam Sarpong, and former Lakers girl/current Pussycat Doll Vanessa Curry (designer, singer and entertainer) were spotted walking and visiting high end stores in Beverly Hills.

Later, they told Paparazzi that they were doing a behind the scenes clothing line with Vanessa Curry and wearing designer Kathleen Largent (Kathleen has traveled throughout the world as a product developer for U.S. and International companies such as Veneto, Yashiro, VBH, Kenneth Cole, Guess, Borelli, Sirco and Brighton. She has combined her expertise, experience and passion for design, to launch her newest and most exciting venture to date: KD LUXE Jewelry and Accessories) from KD Luxe Jewelry (KD Luxe Jewelry is on the cutting edge, combining wearable technology, and fusing fashion and functionality. Each of her inspirational pieces are embedded with wearable technology).

While doing the photo shoot in Beverly Hills, Sam and Vanessa found themselves surrounded by fans and tourists/visitors taking photos, asking for autographs and even taking videos with their cameras and cell phones of them.

Sam and Vanessa did couple photos shoot modeling clothes, jewelry and in and outside of a sport car from Mirani Motors known as world class automotive customs. Also took couple photos on a motorcycle including inside the TMZ bus. One of the funny things was when the driver of tourists StarLine bus stop to take a photo of Sam Sarpong and Vanessa Curry.

“The cross that we had (Sam and Vanessa) on them is to focus on motivation and determination. Kathleen Largent created in honor of her father who she always told him, she was going to do this line so he’s the motivation behind that.” concluded Mr. Sarpong.
Sam is the current host of AXS Live, Ryan Seacrest’s new show. He will be releasing his EP “Lose My Mind” this month. Next year he will appear in the series “Average Dad.” In this series, he co-stars with actor Brent Goldberg and Jamie Pressly. He plays a young, hot dad where all of his children’s teachers have a crust on him.

The Gallery Los Angeles Gears Up for its Eighth Season of L.A. Fashion Weekend

Lineup of Official Sponsors and Designers announced

LOS ANGELES, CA; October 1, 2012 –The Gallery Los Angeles, a full-service marketing and event production company, is gearing up to kick off its eighth season of L.A. Fashion Weekend, the much anticipated finale of LA Fashion Week. The epic three-day affair, held in the heart of Hollywood at Sunset Gower Studios from October 18-21, gives industry insiders and fashion fiends alike the chance to preview fresh celebrity collaborations and cutting-edge emerging designers while mingling with L.A.’s finest.

Shows kick off Friday, October 19th with doors opening at 5:00 pm for media and 6:00 pm for invited guests. Opening night includes Spring 2013 swimwear collections from Havana Nights by Christina Milian for Nicolita Swimwear, Amelie Swimwear, and Culture Swimwear.

Saturday’s show will showcase the hottest in the up-and-coming designer division including Wolfeep, Parides, and Black Hearts Brigade. Doors open at 5:00 pm to media and 6:00 pm for invited guests.

Sunday, October 21st is an all day event, opening with the Second Annual “Just Fashion” show at 2:00 pm, hosted by Public Counsel, and closing with the women’s contemporary and couture brands show at 8:00 pm. Eclat, Culture Swimwear & Maui and Sons Showcase at Fashion Splash 2012 by LA Fashion Weekend at The Standard Hotel

On Thursday, June 28, 2012, Mikey Koffman, Producer of LA Fashion Weekend from The Gallery Los Angeles hosted Fashion Splash, a Cocktail Reception, Runway Show at The Standard Hotel located at 8300 Sunset Boulevard in the City of West Hollywood, California 90069.

The affair featured everything from cocktail drinks, pictures taken by members of the media, and a teaser showing of models displaying swimsuits by designers Éclat Swimwear, Culture Swimwear, and Maui and Sons.

The main attraction was the designers such as, Éclat Swimwear that set the stage with shiny shimmering solid colors arranging from red, blue and white. While, Culture Swimwear designs showcase a Swirl of colors, consisting of browns, red, orange, black and white.  Maui and Sons made it a fun beach look with tee shirts, sunglasses and surfboards, combined with swimwear. During the fashion show run way the music was played by D.J. Niko Achtipes.

Actor/Co-Producer, Vincent De Paul (Hairspray – 1988) was among the guests.  The guests were seated in front of the runway overlooking the pool.

The poolside fashion show theme was a great way to show off latest swimwear.  Laughter and clamps by the guest really showcase that the guests really enjoyed and appreciated all the hard work contributed to put a fashion show.

First Flour ‘Bombed’ Now Kim Kardashian Store DASH Protested By Around 100 Concerned Citizens

Some people don’t know when to quit while they’re ahead. This seems to be the case with reality ‘star’ Kim Kardashian. First she’s ‘floured bombed’ last month in West Hollywood, California on the red carpet, then her DASH store in Calabasas, California is targeted by close to100 concerned citizens protesting her use and promotion of fur.

On Saturday, April 14, 2012 from 12-2 protestors chanted rather peacefully, “Hey Kim what do you say, how many animals did you kill today?” and “40 animals, one fur coat.” The very cooperative and respectful group of people consisted of animal activists, animal lovers and concerned citizens who are disgusted with Kim Kardashian being a role model for their children. Last Chance For Animals Investigator Bryan Monell commented, “Kim Kardashian has admitted to having seen the footage of raccoons, cats and dogs being skinned alive for their fur and she STILL has fur in her line.” To this comment, one person was heard saying, “If she saw that and still has the nerve to sell fur and promote it then she has no soul.” Hit singer-songwriter Fawn said, “If we put people like the Kardashian’s on a pedestal and as role models for our youth, then what does that say about us as a collective people?”

Carrying signs and facing them towards the store to obvious uncomfortable employees inside, as well as lining the walls, walkways and street corners, the demonstrators kindly left a path for shoppers to walk through to the store. It was no surprise that the store eventually turned it’s lights out, hoping that the individuals exercising their constitutional right to express their opinion, would just go away.

Animal Rights Lawyer and Award Winning Director and Producer of “Skin Trade,” Shannon Keith said “We’re here trying to educate them on the atrocities of the fur trade and educate them, but they won’t allow me in the store. They don’t want to see this, (holding the film Skin Trade) because then they would know the truth and they wouldn’t want to wear fur.” She went on to say: “This reflects poorly on DASH and their policies because if they’re going to discriminate on people that just want to peacefully educate them, then who else are they discriminating against – what other classes of human being’s are they discriminating against from walking into their store?”

Organizer of Fur Free West Hollywood, Ellen Lavinthal said, “What’s very interesting and hypocritical is that Khloe Kardashian, one of the main owners of the store and one of the main people who ran the store originally before she moved to Texas with her husband, posed for PETA in an ad that said ‘I’d rather go naked then wear fur’ and yet she is condoning this behavior.” She went on to point out that “Most people are missing the point – Whether DASH is currently carrying fur is not the issue, as right now is not the ‘fur’ time of year, it is their continual promotion of fur on the red carpet, in their stores and on their reality how. It’s their arrogant refusal.

Calabasas California wasn’t the only state holding a protest at DASH. New York and Miami were simultaneously protesting DASH stores in their area as well.

Rumor has it that Kim would just like this all to go away. Silly Kim. This is NOT going away. You will keep getting Twitter messages slamming your affinity to kill innocent animals for your vanity until you finally learn compassion and a bit of class. Don’t you know that it isn’t fashionable, appealing or even vogue to wear something that once had a mother, just like you? Lovers of the animal world don’t hold your breath. With some one like Kim, it may never happen.

Once Mikey Koffman from The Gallery Los Angeles brings every one together at Los Angeles Fashion Weekend where buyers, media, designers, stylists and celebrities witness and view the new upcoming designs and fashion trends for the season. Producer Mikey Koffman from The Gallery Los Angeles produced LA Fashion Weekend, the Spring 2011 and Summer 2012 presented by ScreenShop from October 21 – 23, 2011.

Diversity News Magazine and TV covers the event on Saturday, October 22, 2011 Los Angeles Fashion Week Fall 2011 and Winter 2012 at Sunset Gower Studios located at 1438 N Gower St  in Hollywood, CA from 11:30 am to 9:00 pm.

In 2005 Koffman founded The Gallery Los Angeles, a full service marketing and event production company. After producing fashion shows in Los Angeles, New York, and Paris, Koffman assisted in the establishment of the official Los Angeles Fashion Week, Mercedes Benz Fashion Week at Smashbox Studios. Following Mercedes Benz Fashion Week’s final season, Koffman launched Los Angeles Fashion Weekend and moved the location to Sunset Gower Studios in Hollywood.

Koffman also produces runway shows in conjunction with the Magic International tradeshow. These shows put fashion brands onto the map with key buyers and media, and have successfully launched a number of emerging lines.

Koffman was also featured on the first season of the hit Showtime series, “The Real L Word,” and KTLA morning news segment “Thank God It’s Fashion”.
