The 27th Annual AIDS Walk Los Angeles is This Sunday, October 16, 2011

On Monday, October 10, 2011 AIDS Project Los Angeles and AIDS Walk Los Angeles announced that more than 30,000 participants are expected to fill the streets for the 27th Annual AIDS Walk Los Angeles (California’s Largest AIDS Fundraiser) to be held on Sunday, October 16, 2011 in West Hollywood Park (San Vicente Boulevard between Santa Monica Boulevard and Melrose Avenue) starting at 9:00 am.
Per event organizers Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa and West Hollywood Mayor John J. Duran will speak about the current HIV/AIDS crisis in Los Angeles County and the vital work of lead beneficiary APLA.
Also the following elected officials are expected to attend: United States Representatives Linda Sanchez and Adam Schiff; California State Assembly Speaker John A. Perez; California State Assemblymembers Betsy Butler, Mike Feuer, Bonnie Lowenthal, and Anthony Portantino; Los Angeles County Supervisor Zev Yaroslavsky; Los Angeles City Councilmembers Paul Koretz and Tom LaBonge; West Hollywood Mayor Pro Tempore Jeffrey Prang and West Hollywood City Councilmember John D’Amico; and Los Angeles County Director of the Office of AIDS Programs & Policy, Mario J.
