Golsa Sarabi Ms Iran Winner of the Queen of the Universe Award and Top 13 of the Top 15 pageants at the 1st Queen of the Universe Pageant 2013.

At the Saban Theater located at 8440 Wilshire Boulevard, in Beverly Hills, California, 90211. The “Queen of the Universe” 2013 took place on January 27, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. The event featured a red carpet section and VIP room with drinks and appetizers. Ticket prices for the event were from $35 to $40. The event was hosted by Pili Montilla and Melissa Marty. There was special music performance by Denise Quinones and Melissa Marty.

Infinity Media, Inc. presented this lavish event at this popular venue. This spectacular event was produced by Academy Award Nominee, Michael Ohoven and Joyce Giraud.  The pageant is an international beauty pageant created to inspire women to become role models in the community.

Queen of the Universe 2013 benefiting charities were UNESCO (the United Nations Education Science and Cultural Organization), and Beverly Hills Temple of the Arts.

Five exciting nervous contestants stand forth in front of the judges to be asked a specific question, but only one can be selected to be the winner of this prestigious award and title.

This year the gorgeous Ivette Sausedo from Spain was crowned and selected by the judges to be the next “Queen of the Universe 2013”. What an honor it is to represent the world as “Queen of the Universe”.  She was presented the crown and awarded many prizes that were contributed by many sponsors. Ms Romania is the 1st Runner-up of Queen of the Universe and the 4th (Ms. Israel), 3rd (Ms. Australia), 2nd (Ms. Mexico) came as top runner-up pageants.

Every year, pageants are presented to unite beautiful ladies that make a difference in the world we live in. The contestants are advocates who promote education, beauty, create awareness, and join forces to help their communities.  This event brings forth their beauty, talent and culture.  A winner is selected by judges who feel that this unique individual best fits as a mentor to advocate and give to back to the community.  The lucky winner should have good heart who loves to give back and work with charities around the world. Also, to be a role model who can contribute their time to help others make a difference.

The judges take their time to view the contestants, ask the ladies questions, and examine their beauty before they decide who will be the unique individual who will best fit the role of “Queen of the Universe”.  All the contestants are unique in their own way.  They all have contributed in building a better world, contribute to our society and supporting legit non profit charities.

Being that the pageant took place in California, it would have been excited if Tara Rice from USA had won. However, pageant winners are not selected that way.  Many contestants find their way to be selected to compete for this great honor, the confidence and experience they all gain.  For instance, we present Golsa Sarabi from Iran.  She started her acting and modeling from John Casablancas Company in Vancouver, Canada.  She then decided to move back to Iran to follow her passion in acting. Performing in plays and short movies gave her talent and experience to move back to the United States in 2009.  She also focused in fitness, mind & body.  It brought her to accept the privileged to represent Miss Iran in the “Queen of the Universe” pageant 2013.  The talents these ladies bring forth set a great stage to be presented to compete in a great event such as “Queen of the Universe” pageant.

The judges, contestants, sponsors, family and friends made this event possible.  Everyone contribute their time and efforts to support these fantastic ladies to become all they can be. Good luck to all the contestants. You are all winners!

NAMM Presents Excellence Award for Music In Advertising to Goodby, Silverstein & Partners at 2013 NAMM Show

Goodby, Silverstein & Partners honored for Chevy Sonic TV commercial featuring OK Go.

Anaheim, CA (January 27, 2013) – Once a year, the National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM) turns the spotlight on some of the most creative, engaging ads that feature music instruments and music making. The 2013 winners of the NAMM Excellence Award for Music in Advertising are Goodby, Silverstein & Partners for their Chevy Sonic ad, titled “Let’s Do This/Needing-Getting/OK Go.” The ad features members of the band OK Go driving a car rigged to play music with a little help from hundreds of guitars, pianos, and percussion instruments positioned along the driving course.

The presentation made at the 2013 NAMM Show held at the Anaheim Convention Center took place in front of 4,000 music-industry leaders at a breakfast session on the final morning of the four-day event. A. Eicoff & Company with UnitedHealthcare / AARP ad titled “Playing for Keeps” and Wieden & Kennedy’s “Music Teacher” for Target took home the day’s other top honors.

The winners were chosen from dozens of campaigns created in the last year for mainstream brands that feature musical instruments and music-making technology such as synthesizers and DJ mixers. The nominees’ spots promoted a vast array of products – from cars to credit cards – and incorporated everything from custom guitars and homemade drums to a human-body-powered one-man band. View a montage of the nominees here.

The trophies are actual musical instruments – ukuleles – that have been customized with one-of-a-kind artwork by California-artist Tyler Warren.

“Companies seem to use musical instruments in their ads because music-making elicits a positive feeling with consumers,” said Joe Lamond, president and CEO of NAMM. “It is gratifying to see people playing music to communicate these messages, and a clear reminder of music’s power to move us.”

The NAMM Excellence Award for Music in Advertising celebrates a burgeoning trend in television advertising. Increasingly, music – particularly musical instruments and music-making technology – is moving into the spotlight when it comes to television advertising. From the frenetic guy who serenades Chase Freedom Card users on his blue guitar to the music teacher playing the keyboard as he riffs on what back-to-school supplies kids might need from Target, musical instruments are key to many memorable campaigns.

Going to LA Auto Show is an unforgettable experience because you meet new colleagues, check out the latest gadgets, features on new cars. One of the very noticeable things this year at 2012 LA Auto Show as “The Media Pit Stop” sponsored by AutoTrader.com. The service, the food and the gifts were very good. More major media sponsors should do more activities to keep the media entertain and taken care of.

Independent Photographer Receives the 2012 LA Music Awards Producer’s Choice Award for “Career Achievement in Photography”

Diversity News Magazine contributor celebrity photographer Bob Delgadillo Receives the Producer’s Choice Award at The 22nd Annual Los Angeles Music Awards.

While The Hollywood Music in Media Awards moves their awards venue from Hollywood and Highland Complex to The Fonda Theater. They were couple blocks away from the Award show that everyone is talking about it in Hollywood and that have created a huge BUZZ for the “LAMA’s”.

On Thursday, November 15, 2012 The 22nd Annual Los Angeles Music Awards and 6th Annual Hollywood F.A.M.E. Awards were held at Avalon Hollywood nightclub located 1735 Vine Street Los Angeles, CA 90028 from 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm.

“It was a great honor to be selected by the Producer’s Choice Award for “Career Achievement in photography”. I would like to thank those on both sides of the velvet ropes for their help. From the celebrities who have welcomed me and the many other fine photographers who have helped me learn how to be the photographer that I am today. I love being part of this community and being awarded this honor is more than I ever would have thought possible.” said Bob Delgadillo, award recipient and Diversity News Magazine contributor photographer.

Bob credits his mother for showing interest in photography, because she was the family historian and photographer. Nothing professional but she would snapshots of every family gathering going back to the 1940′s. Bob started taking photos and learning to develop film and making prints back to his junior high school days in the early 60′s. His interest continued on as an amateur hobbyist level with film until digital photography took off in the mid 2000′s. The advent of digital photography and the Internet now made it easy to do great photography at a economical cost. More importantly the ability to share your work with other professional photographers through the Internet was key to reawakening his interest in photography. He soon graduated to a DSLR camera and started posting on photo sharing sites and got great feedback and encouragement to move my photography into the professional level.

“Congratulations to Bob Delgadillo Recipient of 2012 LA Music Awards Producer’s Choice Award for “Career Achievement in Photography”. Bob is a very humble professional.  You can count on him to photograph beautiful pictures, and capture those memorable moments.  He works well with others, and gets things done in a timely matter.  His photography work and friendly demeanor deserves to be recognized for all his hard work and dedication”. said Colleague, writer/reporter and photographer for Diversity News Magazine Stella Gomez.

“The hours are long. For every hour of shooting an equal amount of time, I spent processing hours after the event and everyone has gone home. I work on the computer trying to get them up by the next morning so that they can see what they looked like at the event. The pay is minimal at best. Usually just enough to pay for parking and gas or gear that needs replacing. The real reward comes from taking that priceless photo of a person at a special event that they will always treasure. What other job can one do that does that for their clients?” concludes Mr. Delgadillo.

Also on a press release by the event producers they stated that: Longtime Hollywood photographer Bob Delgadillo, a stalwart at red carpet events around the city, received a Producer’s Choice Award for “Career Achievement in Photography”

Bob interest in photography started with nature, floral, landscapes and architecture. When he picked up digital photography his interest turned to street photography. He started reading up on great street photographers like Henri` Cartier Bresson and his book “The Decisive Moment” and it just clicked in him that this is what he wanted to do, what he was meant to do. Event photography and Hollywood go hand in hand. There is something always going on from red carpet movie premieres, charity events, fashion shows and concerts. This type of photography is very challenging with unpredictable conditions and very tough competition. Things happen very quickly and if you are not ready you will miss catching that one moment in the event that tells the story.
