11th Annual West Hollywood Book Fair 2012 Set for Sunday, September 30th

West Hollywood, CA – On August 13, 2012 The City of West Hollywood announced that they will host its 11th Annual West Hollywood Book Fair on Sunday, September 30, 2012 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the West Hollywood Library and West Hollywood Park, 625 North San Vicente Boulevard.
The West Hollywood Book Fair is one of Southern California’s largest and most eclectic literary arts events, and it attracts readers, writers, and performers of all ages and interests.
At this year’s event, the City of West Hollywood celebrates the one-year anniversary of its vibrant new library, which has quickly become an integral part of the community and its passionate commitment to lifelong learning.
This year’s Book Fair will feature 13 stages with hundreds of acclaimed authors and artists, 100 exhibitors, live performances, culinary demonstrations, children’s theater programming, and workshops across a broad spectrum of works. The 2012 Book Fair will also feature new genre-specific and multi-genre stages in addition to performance areas that carry on the success of the past ten years.

Among the many notable authors scheduled to appear at this year’s West Hollywood Book Fair are Roberto Martin (Ellen DeGeneres’ personal chef and author of Vegan Cooking for Carnivores); Andrew McCarthy (award-winning travel writer and actor); Kyle Richards (author of Life Is Not a Reality Show and star of “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills”); Ludovic Lefebvre (LudoBites master chef); Gigi Levangie Grazer (New York Times bestselling author of five novels including The Starter Wife, Maneater andThe After Wife, as well as the screenplay for Stepmom); Sheryl Lee Ralph (veteran of film, television, and Broadway; founder of the Diva Foundation); Eric Erlandson (co-founder, songwriter, and lead guitarist for the alternative rock band Hole and author of Letters to Kurt about his close friendship with Nirvana icon Kurt Cobain); Gary Phillips (bestselling author of Monkology and The Underbelly); Reverend Ed Bacon (author of 8 Habits of Love: Open Your Heart, Open Your Mind, and longtime Rector of All Saints Church in Pasadena); Charles Yu(author of Sorry Please Thank You and How to Live Safely in a Science Fictional Universe); Eduardo Santiago(author of the novel Tomorrow They Will Kiss); Dustin Thomason (multi-million selling author of The Rule of Fourand 1221); and Luis J. 2010 Los Angeles LGBT PRIDE 40th Anniversary Festival & Parade Celebration

On Friday, June 11 to Sunday June 13, 2010 Christopher Street West (CSW) held Los Angeles LGBT Pride 40th Anniversary Festival and Parade Celebration in West Hollywood, CA. Per CSW Over half a million of people were expected during the weekend celebration.
CSW 2010 Honorees were Jane Velez-Mitchell – Person of the Year Award, Nadia Sutton – Morris Kight Lifetime Achievement Award, Best in Drag Show – CSW Special Community Award, HONOR PAC – CSW Special Community Award, Guy Baldwin – Berman/Schaffer Award, Bamby Salcedo – Connie Norman Award, Ari Ruiz – Outstanding Youth Leader Award, Sheryl Lee Ralph – George Moscone Award, Reverend Dr. Neil G. Thomas – Harvey Milk Award, West Coast Singers – Pat Parker Arts Award, D.I.V.A. – Torie Osborn / Dick Michaels Media Award and M•A•C Cosmetics – The Sheldon Andelson Award.
Last year’s 2009 CSW LA PRIDE honorees were Jeanne Córdova; Morris Kight Lifetime Achievement Award, Therese Stewart; Woman of the Year Award, John A. Pérez; Man of the Year Award, Claudette Colbert a.k.a. “Claudette Sexy DJ”; CSW Special Community Award, Jim Williams; CSW Special Community Award, Chris Angel Murphy; Outstanding Youth Leader Award, Hollywood United Methodist Church; Berman/Schafer Award, Doug Spearman; Connie Norman Award, Sean Penn; George Moscone Award, Maria Louise Roman; Harvey Milk Award, Tom of Finland Foundation; Pat Parker Arts Award, Regent Media; Sheldon Andelson Award, and Pat Rocco; Torie Osborn/Dick Michaels Media Award.
These year some of the LA PRIDE Main Stage show performances were on Saturday, June 12, 2010 by Kelis, Matisse and En Vogue and on Sunday, June 13, 2010 the line up were Josie Cotton, Martha Davis & The Motels and Kelly Rowland. Also special performance courtesy of DJ Casey Alva was International Dance Diva Pepper Mashay. Both days were hosted by Billy Masters & Momma.

On Wednesday, June 9, 2010 Christopher Street West (CSW) held An Evening of PRIDE with 2010 LA PRIDE Parade Grand Marshals, Sharon & Kelly Osbourne.The event was held from 7:00 pm to 10:00 pm at at Eleven Night Club & Restaurant in West Hollywood, CA.
Sharon Osbourne walked the red carpet and got interviewed by media outlets (Kelly Osbourne did not make it to the event). Also recording artist Taylor Dayne make an appearance to celebrate the 40th Anniversary of LA PRIDE.

Quinton Aaron hosts The New Frontier Democratic Club Celebrity Fund Raiser for President Barack Obama

On Friday, April 16th, 2010 The New Frontier Democratic Club (50 years golden) in association with Beverly Hills Live presented The Democratic Jump-Off Red Carpet Celebrity Fund Raiser in celebration of the California State Democratic Convention to support President Barack Obama.
The event was held at Club 740 downtown Los Angeles, 740 South Broadway, Los Angeles, CA from 8:00 PM to 12:00 AM.
Quinton hosted the event that also paid tribute to Sheryl Lee Ralph and rap pioneer Kurtis Blow. Others celebrities in attendance included Steve Russell (Troop), music producer Ollie E. Brown, soul singer Brenda Lee Eager, Kiki Shepard (Show Time at the Apollo) and Jay King (Club Nouveau), Kathleen Bradley, Beverly Todd, Judy Pace and many others.

The confirmed celebrity guests were Quinton Aaron (The Blind Side – hosts event), Sheryl Lee Ralph (honoree), Kurtis Blow (rap pioneer to received tribute), actress Beverly Todd, Luenell (comedienne Borat, All About Steve), Kym Whitley (comedienne), Kathleen Bradley (former “Barker’s Beauty”), Steve Russell (lead singer of the group Troop), Annie McKnight (comedienne BET’s Comic View), Ollie E.
