Author Lourdes Duque Baron’s Private Press Book Signing a Huge Success Hosted By Cynthia Manley

On Saturday, February 16, 2013, the red carpet, the DJ, the entertainment, surprises and the yummy Buffet Seafood food was ready for the guests of International Published Boook Author Lourdes Duque Baron’s Private Press Book Signing held at Cafe Sierra, Universal Hilton 555 Universal Hollywood Dr. in Universal City, CA 91608-1001 from 6:00 pm – 10:00 pm. The event was hosted by Cynthia Manley and co-hosted by Recording Artist Fawn, Bernardo Bernardo and Bernardina Kimmerle.

The Filipino American Press Club of California made an special entertainment surprise gift in honor and celebration of International Published Book Author Lourdes Duque Baron’s birthday. The surprise was a magic show that was performed by Cecile and Mighty Show. Also The Filipino American Press Club of California presented a trophy  roses and a certificate to author Lourdes Duque Baron.

The event included also free signed books by author Lourdes Duque Baron and special performances by Matthew Parry-Jones, Cynthia Manley.

During the event singer Matthew Parry-Jones, who is just 12 years, and his mother signed a new recording contract with producer Andrew Lane.

2012 LA Auto Show Press Day-Two on November 29, 2012 at LA Convention Center

On Thursday, November 29, 2012 it was the second and last preview press day at 2012 LA Auto Show inside the Los Angeles Convention Center. The event was held at Los Angeles Convention Center located at 1201 Figueroa Street, Los Angeles, California. The press days were Wednesday, November 28 from 7:30 am to 6:00 pm and on Thursday, November 29, 2012 from 8:00 am to 3:30 pm.

Going to LA Auto Show is an unforgettable experience because you meet new colleagues, check out the latest gadgets, features on new cars. One of the very noticeable things this year at 2012 LA Auto Show as “The Media Pit Stop” sponsored by AutoTrader.com. The service, the food and the gifts were very good. 100 Outstanding Filipino-Americans in the USA 2012 benefits Gawad Kalinga not ABS-CBN Foundation International Bantay Bata 163 with 2 Million Pesos

Mr. Tony Olaes, Exectuive Director of Gawad Kalinga USA,  and one of the Business Entrepreneur Awardee will donate his own money to Bantay Bata 163 and match the ONE MILLION PESOS on behalf of the 100 Outstanding Filipino-Americans in the USA 2012 project and the 99 other awardees. A total goal of 2 MILLION PESOS were granted that night. (2 million Philippine pesos = $50. 000.00 U.S. dollars)

It was advertise as a benefit event for ABS-CBN Foundation International Bantay Bata 163, due to the controversy the got out of control of Pay for Play and media company ABS-CBN drop out as benefiting organization two days before the event.

On Saturday, July 28, 2012 Philippine Children’s Charities, Inc., and the Press Photographers Philippines-USA, Inc., held their first ever in history public recognition of the 100 Outstanding Filipino-Americans in the USA 2012 for their chosen careers or their civic contributions to our Diverse society. The event known as a Black Tie Event and Awards Night. For those who wondering what happen to, here is a copy of an email we received from a private source: “ABS CBN Foundation International has decided to withdraw from its scheduled participation in the 100 Outstanding Filipino Americans dinner sponsored by Philippine Children’s Charities and its founder, Ms. Darna Umayan.  After careful deliberation, the board of directors of the Foundation has concluded today that recent statements made by Ms. Umayan will make it untenable for ABS CBN Foundation International to be part of this initiative.  The Foundation regrettably has also  decided to decline the planned donation to Bantay Bata.” said Mr. Raffy Lopez, ABS CBN Foundation International Bantay Bata 163.

The black tie event and award night featured grand entrance parade of colors of PP-USA, Inc officers and members. The USA and Lupang Hinirang, the national anthem of the Philippines was sung. Welcome remarks were made by event project director Darna B. Umayam and Sid Guerrero, president of PPP-USA, Inc. The guests enjoyed an 8 course dinner while been entertain by Anthony Paul, Nicole Villalon, Sheila Ferrari and Nuevo School of Contemporary Dance group. Daniel R. Espiritu, Deputy Consul General and Robbie Fabian, President of ABS-CBN Foundation were a no show. The event concluded with presentation of all the 100 Oustanding Filipino Americans in the USA Awardees.

The  100 Oustanding Filipino Americans in the USA 2012 was master of ceremonies were Sheila Ferrari, Antoinette Taus and Liza Dino.

As of date of this article, we have requested the names of the awardees and per Ms. Darna B. Umayam due to a mutual agreement with the awardees their names will not be released. Here is the response our editorial office received in e-mail dated August 2, 2012 from Ms. . Darna B. Umayam stating: “The awardees themselves and all of us decided we will not publish the names of the awardees to protect all of them. There were photos taken and publish in public.  Other publications understood where we are coming from. I hope you will understand too.  I told all newspapers we will release after the event. Things happen.”

Paparazzi Comedy Celebrates 2 Years Anniversary of Comedy Nights at Marina Venice Yacht Club in Marina Del Rey

After they held their comedy show at Jon Lovitz Comedy Club in Universal City, then they move to Canal Club in Venice Beach, but Paparazzi Comedy finds their permanent home at Marina Venice Yacht Club, in Marina City Club in Marina del Rey.

On Friday, July 6, 2012 celebrity photographer and comedy producer Gisele Rebeiro from Partyby5.com produced her 2 Year Anniversary of Paparazzi Comedy at located 4333 Admiralty Way in the city of Marina Del Rey, CA 90292 from 8:00 pm to 11:00 pm.

The event featured a Paparazzi taking photos of the comedians and guests, cupcakes, a red carpet, appetizers, a group of funny of diverse comedians such as Kristi McHugh, Beth Payne, David Lucas, Skillz Hudson, Roger Rodd, Tre Stewart, Ali Breen, Stevie Mack, Roxy Rich, Janet Rousseau and many more.

American R&B singer-songwriter, record producer and former record executive Smokey Robinson is most notable for being the founder and front man of the popular Motown vocal group, The Miracles. Another massive hit, “Being with You,” followed. “Just to See Her” from his album, “One Heartbeat,” won Robinson his first Grammy ® Award. Robinson has been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, the Songwriter’s Hall of Fame, is a Kennedy Center honoree, and has been awarded the National Medal of Arts. He released the standards album “Timeless Love” in 2006 on Universal Records. In 2009 he issued the album “Time Flies When You’re Having Fun” on his own label, Robso Records.

On Thursday, February 16, 2012 The NAACP held their 43RD Annual NAACP IMAGE AWARDS Nominees’ Preshow Gala Reception at 2000 Avenue of the Stars in Los Angeles, CA 90067 from 7:45 pm to 9:30 pm.
