Style Fashion Week LA Returns to Rock the Runway in their 5th Season of Fashion events at Vibiana set March 11-15, 2013

March 8th, 2013 (LOS ANGELES)– This March, Style Fashion Week LA is back with their highly anticipated, 5th season of fashion events and designer showcases. Since inception, Style Fashion Week LA has become widely respected and influential in the Los Angeles fashion scene. The upcoming fashion week will be held at the landmark Cathedral, Vibiana, in downtown Los Angeles. This exquisite cathedral provides an elegant backdrop for the year’s most stunning runway shows. This season will feature the coveted collections of both international and national designers as well as showcase the freshest looks from talented emerging artists. The 5-day event, March 11th-15th, will include musical entertainment, live performances, and lifestyle exhibits. Guests will enjoy signature cocktails and designer showcases throughout the week in the spacious VIP courtyard lounge hosted by the Crocker Club.

Style Fashion Week LA is excited to announce their partnership with the Luxe City Center Hotel, located in downtown Los Angeles. This luxury hotel will host Style Fashion Week’s opening reception on Sunday, March 10th. Guests of this exclusive event will celebrate the kickoff of fashion week by enjoying specialty cocktails and previewing select pieces from the week’s upcoming designer shows.

Fashion week hits the runway in style on Monday, March 11th, with opening collections by talented Latin-American designers. Mexican designer, Gregorio Sanchez, will debut his new brand, the GREGORIO SANCHEZ COLLECTION. With over fifteen years of experience, Gregorio Sanchez, is known for his impeccable style and eye-catching, fashion-forward ensembles. His chic creations set the standard for design and craftsmanship and have amassed a devoted following across countries. Ina Soltani’s F/W 2013 collection will highlight the signature details that have defined the designer’s confident style from the beginning. Extraordinary leather accents dominate this sophisticated new collection. Her designs are strongly inspired by the dramatic narratives of artisan traditions and express deep appreciation for arts and culture. Ina Soltani’s glamorous pieces have been worn by Hollywood A-listers like Eva Longoria, Kim Kardashian, and Jennifer Lopez. Talented, Columbian designer, Claudia Gonzalez Pruitt, will showcase her unique brand Beso Moda in Monday’s collective show. Beso Moda reflects the style of the modern woman. Tuesday, March 12th-The second day of fashion week will be hosted by LA’s popular store, Brigade LA. With their eclectic mix of designer brands, Brigade LA is driving downtown fashion into the future. Doors will open at 5:00 P.M. for the Brigade LA designer showcase at 6:30 P.M. Tuesday’s 7:30 P.M. show will feature the contemporary women’s boho chic collection by XCVI. Using versatile fabrics and thoughtful styling, XCVI fashions clothing for women who believe in style, without sacrificing the luxury of comfort.

Tuesday evening will showcase a collective show with Paulie Gibson, Civil Society, and Rudsak. Since 2009, Paulie Gibson designs have graced the glossies, runways, and award ceremonies of the fashion elite. This expertly trained designer creates pieces that reflect opposing forces and concepts. Paulie Gibson’s 2013 collection ‘Blueprint’ will be his largest, most impressive collection to date, promising to be both cutting-edge and unexpected. Founded in 2007 by fashion designer Brad Schwartz, Civil Society is a brand that occupies a unique place in the landscape of American and European design. Civil Society’s Fall/Winter 2013 design inspiration This season was inspired by the “Urban Lumberjack”. Wednesday, March 13th- Style Fashion Week presents their first ever runway shows featuring lines specially designed for kids and young adults. Hollywood Doll, the breakout line by Pussycat Doll singer, Kaya Jones, will make its runway debut at 6:30 P.M. Hollywood Doll is the collaboration of Jones and Heatherette co-founder, Traver Rains. The whimsical style is designed to inspire young girls to express their individuality and encourage self-confidence. Guests of the show will be treated to a special performance by Kaya Jones herself, singing a song off her new album. Following Hollywood Doll is trendy, bohemian girl’s line Frankie & Sue. Based out of LA, Frankie & Sue is designed and owned by two graduates of the Fashion Institute of technology New York. The collection ranges from 2-8 yr and is driven by its prints and trendy silhouettes. Frankie & Sue prides itself on being 100% made in the USA. They offer clothing that appeals to both the edgy tomboy and polished girly-girl. New York based children’s label es + es will close Wednesday’s group show. This luxury fashion brand is bringing style to young fashionistas, sizes 4-10. Style Fashion Week LA is thrilled to announce the returning shows of designers, Quynh Paris and Ash Haute Couture on Wednesday evening. Designer Pia Gladys Perey joins Style Fashion Week this season with a collection expressing a sense of mature femininity. Thursday, March 14th welcomes the 6:30 P.M. combined show by Linden and Madisonpark Collective. Locally designed and manufactured womenswear label, Linden, looks forward to the upcoming fall 2013 shows with the ‘Wind-Up Bird Collection’, inspired by the Haruki Marukami novel “The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle”. The capsule collection references the complicated story of the book, but, as always, maintains wearability with flattering silhouettes and a mixture of hard and soft textures. Guests can look forward to separates, dresses, and outwear with unique combinations of materials ranging from gauzy cottons to structured leather.

Designer Trey Alligood III will close the 6:30 show with Madisonpark Collective. He will be debuting his much anticipated women’s and men’s fall 2013 collection at Style Fashion Week. Thursday evening at 8:30 P.M., Style Fashion Week LA and Fashion Hope will present the Go Red for Women Celebrity Red Dress Fashion Show, benefiting the American Heart Association. This special fashion event is dedicated to raise awareness for the Go Red Movement, and to build support for the American Heart Association in the fight against heart disease. Since its inception in 2004, the Go Red For Women movement has been spreading awareness about the risks of heart disease and helping women live healthier lives. Support by strong and powerful female voices gives the movement the ability to continue its important and necessary work. Our Celebrity Red Dress Fashion Show will feature 15 celebrities walking our runway in stunning red designer gowns. The event will be hosted by celebrity stylist Anya Sarre. Anya Sarre is one of Hollywood’s most influential trendsetters, known for her impeccable eye and ability to tie any look together with the perfect accessories. While Sarre is most known for her popular television appearances on Entertainment Tonight, The Insider, and Rachael Ray, Sarre’s designs, tips, and accessories have been featured in the pages of Genlux, Daily Variety, OK!, US Weekly, and Life & Style, among others. Born and raised in California, Sarre embodies a unique flare for fashion positioning her as one of the most sought after stylists in Hollywood.

Style Fashion Week LA has partnered with Fashion Hope to present the Go Red for Women Celebrity Dress Show. Since May 2011, Fashion Hope has been using the fashion industry as a vehicle to build awareness and raise funds in the fight against human trafficking. With the involvement of fashion press, celebrities, designers, boutiques, and fashion professionals, Fashion Hope is able to educate a wide audience on this atrocity. They partner with Non-Governmental Organizations working on the forefront, rescuing and rehabilitating victims of human trafficking.

Next, the grit of the street and glamour of the runway come together in the trained hands of designer, Bryan Hearns. The NCLR presents the 2012 Alma Awards hosted by George Lopez and Eva Longoria to Air September 21 on NBC

The National Council of La Raza (NCLR) – the largest national Hispanic civil rights and advocacy organization in the United States presents The 2012 Alma Awards on September 16, 2012 from 4:30 pm to 10:00 pm in the popular Pasadena Civic Auditorium located at 300 East Green Street in Pasadena, CA 91101.

The winners were announced, but the star studded celebration will air Friday, September 21, 2012 (8-9 p.m. ET) on NBC.

The NCLR Alma Awards honors outstanding Latino artistic achievements in television, film and music.  The show promotes the achievements of talented Latinos in the entertainment industry.

The funny George Lopez and the lovely Eva Longoria hosted once again this year’s extravagate event.  The one-hour special will show case Latinos famous presenters Jake Gyllenhaal, Nicole Richie, Robert Rodriguez, Zoe Saldana, Ryan Lochte, America Ferrera, Andy Garcia, Natalie Morales and Wilmer Valderrama.

Many media outlets and photographers crowded the red carpet waiting for the celebrities, Olympic winners, and hosts to arrive. One by one, limos stopped in front of the Pasadena Civic Auditorium to drop off talent. As the performers, host, and celebrities hit the red carpet, lines of media and photographer wait to interview or take their picture.

Christina Aguilera received the 2012 NCLR Special Achievement Award for her outstanding career and work in philanthropy.  She is especially well known for co-hosting “The Voice”. Christina’s powerful voice made her well know around the world.  Also, Mr. Henry Darrow received the NCLR Alma Ricardo Montalban Lifetime Achievement Award. “Henry has appeared in some five hundred episodes of soap operas, mini-series, sit-coms, and dramas, along with numerous stage plays. He is the first Latino actor to have portrayed “Zorro” in two different television series, as well as providing the voice for a cartoon version of the masked hero. What an honor it is for the NCLR to recognize these two talented people who made a difference in the Latino culture.

There was a great selection of nominees, besides Christina Aguilera and Henry Darrow, the following took home the precious award.

Latinos love music, which brings celebration. Rap singer Flo Rida performed with Roselyn Sanchez.  The guests were welcome to dance in the isle. Martina McBride performed with Luis Fonsi.

In addition, the NCLR welcomed our talented Latino Olympians. Few came out to walk the red carpet and enjoyed the fun filled show.  We honor those Latinos such as Brenda Villa and Jessica Steffens (water polo), Danell Leyva (men’s gymnastics), Leonel Manzano (track and field), and Marlen Esparza (boxing), and the famous United States swimmer, Ryan Lochte for representing our country.

Red Carpet Arrivals of The NCLR 2012 ALMA AWARDS at The Pasadena Civic Auditorium

It is known as Latinos biggest award show and even the hot heat did not stop the honorees and guests to attend the red carpet and awards show.

On Sunday, September 16, the ALMA Awards were hang out at the annual NCLR 2012 ALMA Awards tv show held at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium located 300 East Green Street in the city of Pasadena, CA 91101. The special will air Friday, September 21 (8/7C) on NBC.

Since 1995, the NCLR ALMA Awards has honored outstanding Latino artistic achievements in television, film, and music.  As a national prime-time television special with a cause, the NCLR ALMA Awards demonstrates how inclusion strengthens the entertainment industry and diversity strengthens our country by promoting fair, accurate, and representative portrayals of Latinos.

UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif. – September 13, 2012 – Jake Gyllenhaal, Ryan Lochte, Robert Rodriguez, Zoë Saldana, Natalie Morales, Andy Garcia and Rafael Amaya will be presenters at the 2012 NCLR ALMA Awards®, along with “Devious Maids” cast members Ana Ortiz, Judy Reyes, Dania Ramirez and Edy Ganem. The star-studded special kicking off Hispanic Heritage Month airs Friday, September 21 (8-9 p.m. ET) on NBC.

Rap sensation Flo Rida will perform with Roselyn Sanchez during the high-energy show, which will feature theme music written and performed by music powerhouse Pitbull.

America Ferrera, Michael Peña, Nicole Richie and Wilmer Valderrama will also be on hand to celebrate the accomplishments of some of the most prolific Latinos in the entertainment industry, spanning music, television and film.
