2012 LA Auto Show Press Day-Two on November 29, 2012 at LA Convention Center
On Thursday, November 29, 2012 it was the second and last preview press day at 2012 LA Auto Show inside the Los Angeles Convention Center. The event was held at Los Angeles Convention Center located at 1201 Figueroa Street, Los Angeles, California. The press days were Wednesday, November 28 from 7:30 am to 6:00 pm and on Thursday, November 29, 2012 from 8:00 am to 3:30 pm.
Going to LA Auto Show is an unforgettable experience because you meet new colleagues, check out the latest gadgets, features on new cars. One of the very noticeable things this year at 2012 LA Auto Show as “The Media Pit Stop” sponsored by AutoTrader.com. The service, the food and the gifts were very good. More major media sponsors should do more activities to keep the media entertain and taken care of.

January 22, 2012 by Esteban "Steven" Escobar
Filed under Celebrities News, Entertainment, Events, Featured, Music
People from all over around the world came to the 2012 NAMM (National Association of Music Merchants). It was a win win situation for music companies and entertainment industry folk alike. NAMM showcases the newest gadgets and instruments for the entertainment industry, the curious and entertainers looking for the latest in technology in equipment to assist their music career needs.
The NAMM Show kicked-off the event with a media preview day on Wednesday, January 18, 2012 where Recording artist, singer and performer John Mayer made a special appearance, talked about Michelle Phillips signature guitars and even playing some music for the members of the media/press.
Also on media preview day David Honeywell from PianoDisc talked to us about a Piano called iQ Intelligent Player System which plays by itsself and can be operated from your choice of external devices, including popular devices like the iPad, iPod and MP3 players.
During the 4 day event many celebrity musicians attended various booths, stage events, signed autographs and even performed for their fans. Some of the recording artists and politicians the attended the largest and longest-running musical instruments and products trade show in the United States were John Mayer, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Tommy Lee, Jackson Browne, Steve Vai, Prakash Sontakke, Salar Nader, Bootsy Collins, George Benson, Bernie Williams, Jesse Spencer, Bob Guiney, Sheila E., Robert Benson, BT, Joe Santrani, System of A Down, Steve Morse, Scott Ian, Kerry King, Richard Divine, Lee Roy Parnell, Debby Holiday, Arnold G, Pepper Mashay, former Governor Mike Huckabee, and of course our Diversity News TV celebrity host FAWN and many more.
“We had a press event Wednesday night and we had a dealer party as well and those were very well received, we had a good turnout for that, so we’re having a very good show,” said Gloria Harris, Casio. “A lot of booth traffic. We had scheduled a lot of appointments and people came out and they saw the product and they loved it. We’re excited for the new year.”
On Saturday, January 21st, Fawn spoke with Lee Roy Parnell about his latestGibson guitar and and special impromptu performance for Jackson Browne. Also exhibitor Bee Bantug from Retail Up talked to us about her company services.
“The show was noticeably better in attendance this year,” said Rick Young, Yamaha Corporation of America. “We were consistently packed Thursday through Saturday and Sunday was better than in many of the last years. We had a good array of new products to show our dealers and everyone was upbeat and hopeful. Now that we have the manufacturers and retailers excited, we have one more important group to get excited and that is consumers. Obtaining the mindshare and walletshare of consumers will be the key to success in 2012.”
The 2012 NAMM Show was held from Thursday, January 19 through Sunday, January 22, 2012 from 8:00 am to Midnight at the Anaheim Convention Center located 800 West Katella Avenue in Anaheim, CA 92802.

Editor’s Note: Diversity News Magazine and TV covered the 2012 NAMM Show on 1-18-2012, 1-19-2012 and 1-21-2012 only.
We want to thanks the The Lippin Group for giving us the opportunity to cover the event.
In another note the people the need to be fire from Anaheim Convention Center are the Staff Prop, those people are very rude. When we drove on day 3 they made us go around from Katella to Disneyland Road to park and we walked by car park 4 and they would not allow to enter there so we have to go around. Diversity News TV crew have to pay to park because people from Staff Prop they did not care they told my crew that every one need to pay even they show them confirmation to cover event from public relations firm.
When we were leaving the venue they made us go to the underground floor and we have to walk during the night to the parking space. Please Anaheim Convention Center fire the Staff Prop people or train them to learn how to treat the media/press right.

On Tuesday, November 15, 2011 Screen Actors Guild announced that Regina King, star of TNT’s critically acclaimed drama series “Southland,” will serve as social media ambassador for the 18th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards® airing live on TNT and TBS Sunday, Jan. 29. Through posts on Twitter and Facebook, King will serve as the online face for the awards, giving viewers unprecedented access to behind-the-scenes moments during the weeks building up to the show, as well as from the red carpet.
King’s duties as the SAG Awards® social media ambassador will kick off when she announces this year’s nominations on Wednesday, Dec. 14, at 9 a.m. (ET)/6 a.m. (PT), telecast live on TNT and online at tnt.tv and tbs.com. During the six weeks leading up to the Jan. 29 simulcast of the award ceremony, King will continue to tweet and post about the SAG Awards, including updates on presenters and fashion. She will also post updates during rehearsals and provide her thoughts and insights from the red carpet on the big night.
In “Southland,” which returns for its fourth season beginning Tuesday, Jan. 17, at 10 p.m. (ET/PT), King plays Lydia Adams, a smart and perceptive LAPD detective who often finds herself becoming emotionally invested in the cases she handles. In March 2011, King earned the NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Actress in a Drama Series for her performance in “Southland.”
King was nominated for a SAG Award as a member of the cast in the film “Ray,” for which she won an NAACP Image Award. Her extensive screen credits include “Jerry Maguire,” “How Stella Got Her Groove Back,” “Enemy of the State,” “Boyz n the Hood,” “Poetic Justice,” “Higher Learning,” “Our Family Wedding,” “Year of the Dog,” “This Christmas,” “Miss Congeniality 2: Armed and Fabulous,” “A Cinderella Story,” “Daddy Day Care,” “Mighty Joe Young,” “Legally Blonde 2: Red, White and Blonde,” “Friday, Down to Earth” and “A Thin Line Between Love and Hate”. Of the top industry honors presented to performers, only the Screen Actors Guild Awards are voted on solely by actors’ peers in the Screen Actors Guild. The SAG Awards was the first televised awards show created by a union to honor the work of actors and the first to present ensemble and cast awards. The SAG Awards nominees are chosen by separate film and television nominating committees, each consisting of 2,100 SAG members from around the country, randomly selected anew each year. All active members of Screen Actors Guild are eligible to vote for the final Actor® recipients.

City of West Hollywood to Host the 2011 West Hollywood Halloween Costume Carnaval
October 27, 2011 by News Desk

On Wednesday, October 26, 2011 The City of West Hollywood announced that the City to Host Halloween Carnaval!
Hundreds of thousands of ghouls, goblins and other creatures of the night will let loose upon Santa Monica Boulevard in West Hollywood for the 2011 West Hollywood Halloween Costume Carnaval on Halloween night, Monday, October 31, 2011.
One of the world’s largest celebrations on All Hallow’s Eve, the West Hollywood Halloween Costume Carnaval will be held from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. along Santa Monica Boulevard from Doheny Drive to La Cienega Boulevard. The theme for the Halloween Costume Carnaval is “Become Your Other” and revelers are encouraged to let their alter egos come out to play for the evening.

“What started out as a bunch of gay men in drag stumbling in heels on Santa Monica Boulevard in Boystown has become the largest Halloween Carnaval in the world!” said West Hollywood Mayor John J. Duran. “This year, we will make this as much of a weekend event for our locals as it is a major tourist attraction for visitors from across Southern California,” continued Mayor Duran.
The West Hollywood Halloween Carnaval entertainment stages will include three large stages and three smaller stages. The Main Stage located at Santa Monica Boulevard and San Vicente Boulevard will feature special, world-class entertainment that will be unveiled on Halloween night!
“Trick-or-treating is a customary celebration for young children on Halloween. But let me warn you, the West Hollywood Halloween Carnaval is NOT the place for young children, and especially not a place to bring your animal companions. It’s simply too crowded for them,” said West Hollywood Mayor Pro Tempore Jeffrey Prang. “This is why we have two other exciting events designed just for our young children and our furry friends. The Annual Howl-O-Ween Doggy Costume Contest was held last week and the Halloween Youth Carnival is on Saturday, October 29, 2011 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. at West Hollywood Park,” continued Mayor Pro Tempore Prang.
The Cabaret De Carnaval stage located at Santa Monica Boulevard and Almont Drive will put a modern day twist on the old supper club show-tunes and burlesque genres. The Cabaret De Carnaval stage will be hosted by actor Jeffrey Damnit. Performers will include the drag punk house band, Transkontinental re-interpreting classic showtunes and modern pop hits; Hells Belles Burlesque, an all girl dance show that blends modern dance styles with classic pin-up burlesque; and Peter Mac, a female tribute artist who will perform as Judy Garland; and the FireGroove Flame Throwing ensemble.
“Everyone is welcome to come and spend another safe and exciting Halloween in West Hollywood,” said West Hollywood Councilmember John D’Amico.
The Butterfly Revue stage will be located at Santa Monica Boulevard and West Knoll Drive and will feature drag art performer Phyllis Navidad as hostess; as well as actress, musician and activist for transgender rights, Calpernia Addams; The Wife Project, a multi media dance performance utilizing projection and sound design; avant-garde dance music artist Pipes; and British dance pop sensation Daniela Brooker.
“I always look forward to Halloween in West Hollywood,” said West Hollywood Councilmember John Heilman. “Every year I’m excited by the creativity of the costumes. I’m also amazed by how many people come together to have a great time and celebrate,” continued Councilmember Heilman.
“The West Hollywood Halloween Carnaval is one of our great community events,” said West Hollywood Councilmember Abbe Land. “Our residents and people from all over come to Santa Monica Boulevard to celebrate Halloween with incredibly creative costumes, high-caliber entertainment and one of the most incredible parties anywhere in the world. I’m looking forward to seeing everyone out on the Boulevard celebrating and enjoying the event,” continued Councilmember Land.
The three small DJ stages will encourage audience interaction. DJ Max Van Ville will perform at The Morph Stage, located at Westbourne Drive and Santa Monica Boulevard; DJ Aaron Colbert will perform at the Masquerade Stage, located at North Palm Drive and Santa Monica Boulevard; and DJ Zen Freeman will spin at the Muse Stage located on North La Peer Drive and Santa Monica Boulevard.
The West Hollywood Halloween Carnaval is produced by the City of West Hollywood and the Authentic Agency, a West Hollywood branded entertainment agency.
Public parking for the West Hollywood Halloween Carnaval will be available at parking lots throughout West Hollywood. For more information about the West Hollywood Halloween Carnaval, call the City of West Hollywood’s Halloween Hotline at (323) 848-6503 or visit www.weho.org/halloween
