Taylor Swift, fun. and Maroon 5 Tie for the Lead as Contenders in 11 Award Categories, Followed by Rihanna, Carly Rae Jepsen and One Direction.

On Monday, April 22, 2013, Billboard announced the highly anticipated 2013 Billboard Music Awards finalists, following the year-long tracking period of March 12, 2012 to March 10, 2013, including such names as Taylor Swift, fun., Maroon 5 and One Direction. Winners will be revealed on “The 2013 Billboard Music Awards” airing live from Las Vegas at the MGM Grand Garden Arena SUNDAY, MAY 19 (8:00-11:00 p.m., ET) on the ABC Television Network, sponsored by Chevrolet, Las Vegas and Samsung GALAXY S 4. The star-studded broadcast will be hosted by actor/comedian Tracy Morgan and executive-produced by Don Mischer. Visit

Taylor Swift, fun. and Maroon 5 tie for the lead with nods in 11 award categories, followed by Rihanna and Carly Rae Jepsen as finalists in 10 and 9 categories, respectively. One Direction is the finalist with the next-highest count, with spots in an impressive 8 categories. Out of their 11 categories, the three leaders will all compete for Top Hot 100 Artist and Top Digital Songs Artist. Maroon 5 and fun. will also vie for Top Duo/Group, Top Radio Songs Artist, Top Hot 100 Song and Top Digital Song. Maroon 5 and Taylor Swift will compete for Top Artist, while fun. and Taylor Swift are both finalists for Top Streaming Song (Video).
Rihanna is a strong contender as a finalist in 10 categories, including Top Artist, Top Female Artist, Top Hot 100 Artist, Top Radio Songs Artist, Top Streaming Artist, Top R&B Artist, Album and Song, as well as Top Dance Song. Carly Rae Jepsen’s breakout hit, “Call Me Maybe,” earned her a finalist position in 6 separate song categories, including Top Hot 100 Song, Top Digital Song, Top Radio Song, Top Streaming Song (Video) and Top Pop Song.
Debuting for the first time this year, the Billboard Music Awards will also feature new EDM categories due to the overwhelming popularity of this genre, which will spotlight top electronic dance music artists, albums and songs.
Billboard Music Awards finalists were based on key fan interactions with music, including album and digital singles sales, radio airplay, touring, streaming and social interactions on Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, VEVO, Spotify and other popular online destinations for music. Lizaso Haute Couture Presented RED 12-12-12 Holiday Fashion and Awards Show Honoring L.A.’s Most Fascinating People 2012.

While American broadcast journalist, author, and television personality Barbara Walters Presented “The 10 Most Fascinating People of 2012″ 12-12-12 on ABC, Boy Lizaso from Lizaso Haute Couture Presented 12-12-12 an Avant Garde Holiday Fashion and Award Show Presentation Honoring L.A.’s Most Fascinating People 2012.

The Holiday Fashion and Awards show was held at Celebrity Center International at 5930 Franklin Avenue in Hollywood, CA 90028 from 7:00 pm to 10:00 pm. The price for tickets were a donation at the door to benefit L.A. Karilagan Lions Club District 4-L3, Eye Medical Mission to the Philippines and ABS CBN Foundation International Adopt-A-School.

The event featured guest artist performance by Javier Di Francesco from Paraguay, Fashion Show, Appetizers, Red Carpet Arrivals and Awards presentation.

The awards and recognition presented were for Most Fascinating Lady in Red of the Year 2012, Most Fascinating Person of the Year 2012 and Most Fascinating Couple of the Year 2012.

Some of the people honored received a red rose and awards as Most Fascinating Lady in Red 12-12-12 and Most Fascinating Person of the Year 2012. The awards and roses were presented by Actor, Philanthropist, Producer and Fashion Designer Boy Lizaso and Philippine Consul General Maria Helen Barber De La Vega. The event was hosted by FACC-LA Noel S.V. Omega.

Among all the fans and guests were Published Book Author Lourdes Duque Baron from Scripted In Heaven and writer/reporter Fe P. Koons.

The “44TH NAACP IMAGE AWARDS” Nominees Announced Two-Hour Special to Air Live Friday, February 1 on NBC

ABC and CBS Lead the Nominees in the TV Categories and RCA Leads in the Recording Category.

The nominees for THE 44TH NAACP IMAGE AWARDS were announced today during a live press conference from the Paley Center for Media in Beverly Hills, CA.  Anthony Anderson (Guys with Kids), Niecy Nash (The Soul Man), Yvette Nicole Brown (Community), Garcelle Beauvais (Flight), Tyler James Williams (Go On), and Zendaya (Shake It Up!) announced the categories and nominees.

The NAACP Image Awards celebrates the accomplishments of people of color in the fields of television, music, literature and film and also honors individuals or groups who promote social justice through creative endeavors.  Winners will be announced during the two-hour star-studded event, which will air live on Friday, February 1 (8 ET live/PT tape-delayed) on NBC.

ABC and CBS lead the nominees in the TV categories with 20 and 12 nominations respectively, followed by HBO and Lifetime with 10 and NBC with 9.  In the recording category, RCA leads with 11 nominations, followed by Atlantic with 10 nominations.  The Weinstein Company leads with 4 nominations, and Lionsgate and Paramount Pictures follow with 4 in the motion picture category.

Brock. “The artistic community is an important ally for social justice, and the NAACP Image Awards provides an excellent venue to recognize those who make a difference through art and activism.”

The organization’s half-million adult and youth members throughout the United States and the world are the premier advocates for civil rights in their communities and monitor equal opportunity in the public and private sectors.
