Since releasing her debut CD in 2005, Carrie Underwood has sold more than 15 million albums, making her the best-selling “American Idol” in the U.S. She’s accumulated 16 No. 1 singles, seven of which she co-wrote, and became the first country artist in history and the only “American Idol” winner ever to achieve 10 No. 1 singles from their first two albums. Underwood is current headlining her “Blown Away Tour” across North America promoting her platinum-selling album “Blown Away,” which contains two No. 1 hit singles, “Good Girl” and the title track “Blown Away.” Later this week she and Brad Paisley will co-host the “The 46th Annual CMA Awards.” The CMA’s will air live from Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena on Thursday, November 1, at 8:00 p.m., ET on ABC.
Since her debut in 2000, P!nk (Alecia Moore) has released seven albums (“Can’t Take Me Home,” “M!ssundaztood,” “Try This,” “I’m Not Dead,” “Funhouse,” “Greatest Hits So Far!!!,” “The Truth About Love”), sold over 40 million albums, 65 million singles (nearly 20 million digital tracks), over 1 million DVDs worldwide and has had 12 singles in the top 10 on the Billboard Hot 100 Chart

She is the recipient of three Grammy Awards, two Billboard Music Awards, five MTV Video Music Awards, two MTV Europe Awards, two People’s Choice Awards and many more. P!nk’s most recent effort, “The Truth About Love,” debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Top 200 as well as in six other countries. The album marks P!nk’s first No. 1 debut in the U.S. and a personal first week sales best. “The Truth About Love” produced the smash single “Blow Me (One Last Kiss),” which marks P!nk’s 12th Top-10 hit on the Billboard Hot 100. P!nk will set off on a North American Tour in February 2013.
Pitbull has risen to become a global superstar as both a recording and performing artist. The Miami-native recently added to a long and growing list of hits with his first No. 1, “Give Me Everything.” At the same time, his Planet Pit world tour sold out concerts in Mexico, Canada and Europe, before bringing the party to the United States, Japan and Australia. Pitbull’s new single, “Don’t Stop the Party,” is gaining heavy momentum on the radio and video charts and will be featured on his upcoming “Global Warming” album on November 19, the highly anticipated follow-up to “Planet Pit,” which earned critical acclaim and enjoyed commercial success with sales of more than 1.4 million albums and 18 million singles. “Don’t Stop the Party” comes on the heels of Pitbull’s 2 million-selling single, “Back in Time,” the chart-topping anthem from the action-adventure-comedy “Men in Black 3.” To complement his worldwide success as an artist, Pitbull is also a burgeoning businessman with his own line of premium, low-calorie vodka, Voli, equity partner in the iconic food franchise that shares his Miami roots, The New Miami Subs Grill, and a partnership with Sheets, the dissolvable energy strip. Her seventh single, “Super Bass,” has since been certified quadruple-platinum by the RIAA, and has sold more than 4 million copies, becoming one of the best-selling singles in the U.S. Minaj released her second album, “Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded,” in April 2012, which topped charts internationally, also spawning the Top-10 singles “Starships” and “Pound the Alarm.” Since then the album has become one of the best-selling albums of 2012, according to the Nielsen SoundScan, selling 1 million copies worldwide. In 2012 Minaj embarked on two worldwide tours, the Pink Friday Tour and the Pink Friday: Reloaded Tour.

On Sunday, April 10, 2011 The Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD) held their 22nd Annual GLAAD Media Awards which it was presented by Rokk Vodka & Wells Fargo.
The event honored Kristin Chenoweth, NBC Entertainment Chairman Robert Greenblatt, and the best in television and journalism. The 22nd Annual GLAAD Media Awards was hosted by Amy Poehler and Rashida Jones at the Westin Bonaventure in Los Angeles, CA.
The purpose of the GLAAD Media Awards are to recognize and honor media for their fair, accurate and inclusive representations of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) community and the issues that affect their lives. The GLAAD Media Awards also fund GLAAD’s work to amplify stories of LGBT people and issues that build support for equality. The event featured a blue red carpet, silent auction and provided cocktails, then later the dinner, awards ceremony and after-party.
“I’m very grateful to everyone at GLAAD for thinking of me for this honor.” said Robert Greenblatt, NBC Entertainment Chairman.
“I salute all the producers, writers, network executives, and actors who took on the issue and broke ground way before I did — and who continue to do it today. Many of you are in the room tonight. I share this award with you. While we still have a long way to go, we have made great strides both politically and in our media. May that not only continue, but increase in velocity… because we can help change the way the world thinks about LGBT people, not to mention how LGBT people think about themselves.” Concluded Mr. Greenblatt.
“I want to encourage many people of all faiths to come forward and stand with me.” said Kristin Chenoweth.
“Even if you don’t believe in Jesus the way I do, he did teach love — not just tolerance, but acceptance. I’m lucky I had parents who adopted me at birth, conservative Southern Baptists who said, ‘You will love everyone the same’…Mostly I would like to thank GLAAD for this amazing, amazing honor. This is the biggest honor I have ever received.” Concluded Ms. Chenoweth.
Kirsten Dunst presented a Special Recognition award to Bianca “Nikki” Peet, a 17-year-old student from Corpus Christi, Texas, for her efforts to organize a Gay-Straight Alliance at her high school after her principal originally prohibited the group.

Washington, D.C. – On November 24, 2009 Liberty Counsel (www.LC.org) posted a press release on their site stating the has filed a complaint with the Federal Communications Commission against the American Broadcasting Company (“ABC”) for airing an outrageously lewd and filthy performance by Adam Lambert on November 22, 2009 during the 2009 American Music Awards. Among other things, Lambert simulated oral sex, simulated digital penetration, simulated sadomasochistic conduct and engaged in homosexual open-mouth kissing.
Prior to going on-air, Lambert explained that his motive went beyond performing. According to the Associated Press, Lambert “wanted to break down a double standard that existed where female performers are often sexually provocative while men don’t do it that often.”
ABC’s reaction was to promote Lambert’s indecent acts. While the network edited portions of another performer’s number for the West Coast’s viewing, only one small portion of Lambert’s performance was removed. ABC actually teased and touted the rest of his actions as “what everyone will be talking about tomorrow.” This shows that it was Lambert’s obscene sexual conduct, not his vocal performance that ABC used to promote its show.
Anita L. Staver, President of Liberty Counsel, remarked: “The performance by Adam Lambert clearly crossed the line. ABC should be held accountable for airing this indecent and offensive performance. ABC promoted Lambert’s performance to boost its ratings. Now ABC should have to pay a hefty penalty to the FCC for assaulting its viewers with a debased performance by Adam Lambert.”
Those wishing to contact ABC about this decision can write to ABC, Inc., 500 S. Buena Vista Street, Burbank, CA 91521. ABC can also be reached by calling (818) 460-7477, or you may contact ABC on the web at Audience Relations Department.
