Mary Ann Omega from FACC LA Joins Council of Presidents of Filipino American Chambers of Commerce of Southern CA

Los Angeles, CA — On June 8, 2013, Former Philippine President Fidel V. Ramos celebrated with the newly-formed Council of Presidents of Filipino American Chambers of Commerce of Southern California. Committed to a major effort in increasing the economic empowerment initiatives of the Southern California region, the five chambers are collaborating on “Federation 2013,” the Bi-National Conference that will be held in Los Angeles on November 8-10, 2013. The conference is organized by the Federation of Philippine American Chambers of Commerce (FPACC) and hosted by the Filipino American Chamber of Commerce-Los Angeles (FACC-LA).
The Chair of the Council is Jun Jao, president of the FACC of Orange County. Councilmembers include Mary Ann Omega, president of the FACC of Los Angeles (San Fernando Valley), Felix Lopez, president of the FACC of South East Corridor, Johnny Chua, FACC of the San Gabriel Valley and Evelyn Andamo, president of the FACC of the South Bay of LA Area.
The historic formation of a broad coalition of Filipino American business organizations in 1995 which eventually evolved into the Federation of Philippine American Chambers of Commerce (FPACC.net) had been inspired by President Ramos and implemented by its founding President, humanitarian Yolanda Stern. About Mary Ann R. Omega:
Mary Ann Rosete Omega graduated Bachelor Arts in Communication from St. Paul College of Manila in 1980. She immigrated to the U.S.A. right after she graduated from college at the age of 21 and became naturalized citizen in 1986.
She joined the work force in the healthcare industry rising to the ranks to handle high dollar portfolios of accounts receivables of UCLA Medical Center for 24 years. Mary Ann is an active member of the community for over 10 years and is married to Noel S.V. Omega who is also an active member of the community for over 30 years of leadership in business and civic activism.
Mary Ann has been active member with the Filipino American Chamber of Commerce of Los Angeles (FACC-LA) since 2005. She served as the FACC-LA Secretary from 2007 to 2009, then rose to ranks of FACC-LA Vice President from 2010 to 2012. Mary Ann R. Omega is the New President of The Filipino American Chamber of Commerce Los Angeles for the term year 2013.
The 2013 Officers & Board Members Induction Ceremony and General Membership Assembly was held on Saturday, February 16, 2013 from 7:00 pm until 1:00 am at May Flower Seafood Restaurant’s – Function Room located 679 N. Spring Street, Los Angeles, CA 90012.

I am pleased to welcome you to our event this evening.
I am humbled and proud to announce that our Filipino American Chamber of
Commerce of LA have grown tremendously this year. We are now in our 12th
year and still growing strong.
Manny people are asking what is the secret of our Chamber’s success? I believe
it’s in the 4 C’s : COMMITMENT, COMMUNICATION, COOPERATION, &
CONTRIBUTION.
We encourage you to utilize the many services offered by our Chamber. As in
all successful organizations, we rely on voluntary participation and dedication
of our members to accomplish our goals. We hope you will become involved in
one of our many projects. It is through the participation our members that
projects are developed and services improved.
The prime responsibility of the Chamber is to strengthen and promote the
Filipino-American business community of LA and its surrounding areas, and to
accomplish goals and objectives for its best interest.
My plan for this year is to continue building our success with our monthly
Networkings events, Workshops, Business Mixers, Business Expo, Job and career
fairs and to help our Kababayan get into new enterprises. . . . . To continue to
collaborate with our community partners such as VEDC, UCC, ABA-LA, LBA, and
collaborate with our SISTERS CHAMBER organizations. This year our Chamber is
hosting the FPACC Bi-National Conference on November 8,9, 10. Noel Omega,
the Federation VP of National Conference and Ben Menor, the Federation’s
Chief Strategic Facilitator will talk about this plan in a few minutes.
In the past, we have partnered with Ayala Foundation, APAIT, and last year
with ABS-CBN Foundation. This year, we are looking to partner with deserving
charitable institutions particularly to educated and open doors for the young
and beginning entrepreneurs.

On Thursday, June 28, 2012 The United Chambers of Commerce of San Fernando Valley held their 2012 Annual Mega Mixer hosted by Galpin Motors from 6:00 pm. to 8:30 pm. at 15600 Roscoe Boulevard in the City of Van Nuys, CA 91406. The event with over 500 people in attendance was sponsored by various area chambers, including The Filipino American Chamber of Commerce Los Angeles.
Some of the Board of Directors, Officers and Members of The Filipino American Chamber of Commerce Los Angeles were present in action. Mary Ann Omega, FACC-LA Vice President was welcoming people to the chamber booth by introducing the FACC-LA membership benefits and thanking them for stopping by. As well other chambers from the area took part of this networking and mixer opportunity.
The event featured a cash bar, complimentary appetizers and music. The event ticket prices were $15 if payment received by June 14 (deadline for early bird), $20 if payment received from June 15 to June 25 (for Members) and $30 if payment received from June 26 to June 28 and if payments receive at the door/non-members/guests not listed.

On Friday, March 30, 2012 The Filipino American Chamber of Commerce LA Officers and Board of Directors held their Induction Ceremony 2012 Officers Installation and new members recognition at Mayflower Seafood Restaurant inside the Banquet Room located at 679 N. Spring Street in Los Angeles, CA. 90012 from 7:00 pm to 1:00 am.
The Event was hosted by Lydia V. Solis and Mr. Joe Arciaga. Philippine LA Deputy Consul General Honorable Daniel Espiritu make a speech and did the installation ceremony of the 2012 Board of Directors and Officers.
The event featured live performances by Singer Vangie Crowther who song the USA and The Philippines National Anthem. Then Bob and Vangie Crowther sung a duet. Also The Classy Harmony sung at the event. During the event 2011 FilAm Chamber LA president Rodel Lumanog and 2012 FilAm Chamber LA President Vic Mercado spoke at the event and Noel S. V. Omega presented the FACC-LA History and Accomplishments and Promo of 2013 Federation of Philippine Chamber of Commerce Bi-National Convention and Expo.
FilAm Chamber LA present a check of $500 to ABS-CBN Foundation. The event concluded with Raffle, Dance and some new member were hand out certificates of recognition.
The 2012 Filipino American Chamber of Commerce LA Officers and Board of Directors are: Vic Mercado (President), Lydia Soriano (President Elect/ 1st Vice), Mary Ann Omega (2nd Vice President), Shirley Lumanog (Corresponding Secretary), Vangie Tabberrah (Recording Secretary) and Roy Tabberrah (Treasurer). The Chamber 2012 Board of Directors are: Bob Crowther, Paul Kao, Susan Maranan, Lulu Mercado, Gladys Balallo, Gemma Bergstrom, Nick Delicana, and Mary Trinidad.

Filipino American Chamber of Commerce of LA at United Chambers of Commerce 7th Annual Mayors’ Luncheon

On Tuesday, October 25, 2011 The United Chambers of Commerce San Fernando Valley and Region presented the 7th Annual Mayors’ Luncheon honoring Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa.
The event was held at Warner Center Marriott located at 21850 Oxnard Street
Woodland Hills, in Woodland Hills, CA from11:30 pm to 1:30pm. Ticket dinner to attend the event started from $50 and up. The event master of ceremonies was the Honorable Richard Katz.
Among LA Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa were the following San Fernando Valley Mayors were recognized at the event: James Bozajian from City of Calabasas, Jess Talamantes from City of Burbank, Mario Hernandez from City of San Fernando and Marsha McLean from City of Santa Clarita.
Some of the Filipino American Chamber of Commerce members that attended the event were Lydia Soriano, Rosalinda Soliven-Manaois, Leo Manaois, Gladys Balallo, Mary Ann Omega, Roy Tabberrah and Joe Arciaga. Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa also received an award at the event from the United of Chambers San Fernando Valley and Region.
