Is You Okay by YouTube Star Glozell GreenIs You Okay by Glozell GreenAbout Is You Okay?: “Is you okay? Is you good? Cuz I want to know!” No matter how silly, gross, difficult, or absurd, comedian and video superstar GloZell Green is game for any challenge—even when it comes from real life. Eager to entertain, dedicated to making people laugh, GloZell’s crazy video stunts and multiple comic personas have propelled her into the ranks of legendary funny ladies such as Ellen DeGeneres, Whoopi Goldberg, Tina Fey, Carol Burnett, Lucille Ball, and Phyllis Diller—and made her an inspiring icon for a new generation. One of the earliest vloggers, GloZell helped create a new media empire, and in this deeply honest, very funny, and ultimately liberating book, she uses the stories from her winding journey to unbelievable success to help her fans and young women everywhere navigate the obstacles we all face in life, while helping them find the greatness unique to each of them, inside and out.

Is You Okay? traces GloZell’s life from her childhood in Florida, through her early life as a struggling comedian in Hollywood, through that critical and inspirational moment she decided that YouTube was how she would seize her destiny as an entertainer. Along the way she’s become friends with a host of other internet stars, including Tyler Oakley and Miranda Sings, gotten married and conceived a child, and interviewed such luminaries as Hilary Clinton and President Obama. In this inspiring memoir, GloZell shares with her millions of fans the formative stories and pivotal insights that have molded her life. She speaks truth about the elements of life we wrestle with every day—empowerment, love, body image, school, work, family, relationships, failure, success—in the hopes of encouraging young women to learn to love their body, break free of their shell, and carve out their own identity.

“Everything isn’t just gonna be okay. It doesn’t just have to be good,” GloZell reminds us. “It can be great (even with a ladle full of cinnamon in your mouth).”
