Hollywood, CA (Sunday, November 24, 2014) – It’s that time of year again for Hollywood to pull out all the stops!  On Sunday, November 30, 2014 at 5:00 p.m. Hollywood will roll out the largest Parade Red Carpet in the world to usher in the beginning of the holiday season with all the requisite glitz, glamour and spectacle as The 83rd Annual Hollywood Christmas Parade Benefiting Marine Toys for Tots Foundation, a treasured Southland and American tradition makes it way down the famed Hollywood Boulevard for it’s 3.2 mile trek along the parade route.  The parade is presented by Associated Television International and The City of Los Angeles, and will benefit Marine Toys for Tots Foundation.

The visual and aural extravaganza will kick off a superstar-studded concertheadlined by the iconic and legendary Grammy Award, Academy Award and Golden Globe Award winning American singer, songwriter, musician, producer, philanthropist and human rights activist, STEVIE WONDER, who will also serve as the parade’s Grand Marshal.

Stevie Wonder said, “I am deeply honored to be serving as Grand Marshal of the Hollywood Christmas Parade, as 2014 is a historic one in the annuals of American history, and represents the 50th Anniversary of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, a landmark piece of legislation in the United States guaranteeing all citizens equal protection of the laws under the Fourteenth Amendment.  It is my privilege to give back and to be a part of an American tradition like the Hollywood Christmas Parade.”

Jim Romanovich, President, Worldwide Entertainment, Associated Television International said, “Crowds in excess of one million people are expected to blanket the streets of Hollywood as Stevie Wonder and other renowned artists perform on two elevated stages in front of the parade’s Grandstand area which will be located near Hollywood Boulevard at the intersection of Highland Avenue. About 10,000 people will participate in this year’s parade.  Our Grandstand seats are completely sold out at this point, so we encourage parade goers to arrive early to enjoy the event for FREE by sitting curbside along the parade route.”

The parade will be Co-Hosted by Laura McKenzie (World’s Funniest Moments, Laura McKenzie’s Traveler) and Erik Estrada (World’s Funniest Moments, CHiPS), along with Special Celebrity Guest Hosts, Dean Cain(VH1’s Hit The Floor, Masters of Illusion, Lois & Clark:  The New Adventures of Superman) and Montel Williams (The Montel Williams Show).  ParadeSpecial Correspondents will include Elizabeth Stanton (Elizabeth Stanton’s Great Big World) and Rob Pinkston (Ned’s Declassified School Survival Guide).

Lasky, one of Hollywood’s pioneers in the movie industry who was one of the founding fathers of Paramount Pictures, and the producer of first feature-length motion picture made in Hollywood, The Squaw Man, now celebrating its 100th Anniversary.

The live parade in the streets of Hollywood, CA on Sunday, November 30, 2014 will kick off will a concert of popular music artists at 5:00 p.m., follow by the actual parade from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m.  The parade will be taped on a live set on Hollywood Boulevard for national broadcasts to air as a two hour special on the Hallmark Channel on Wednesday, December 10th at 4:00 p.m., on the Hallmark Movies and Mysteries Channel on Friday, December 19th at 5:00 p.m. and locally in Los Angeles, CA on KTLA 5 The CW on Friday, December 19th at 8:00 p.m. and on Sunday, December 21st at 3:00 p.m.  The parade will also air in syndication to over 90% of the country via 375 television stations.  The parade will also be aired to over one million servicemen and women during the holiday season over the American Forces Network.  For a full broadcast schedule of airings of the parade around the country, please visit the website, www.thehollywoodchristmasparade.org.

The parade will feature 120 celebrities and VIPS; 12 musical performers – 10 in the pre-parade concert and two during the parade; 17 bands total, including 15 from around the United States and two others from out of the country, one from China and another from Mexico; 6 Equestrian entries; 13 giant balloons and 16 characters/novelties. Los Angeles Police Motorcycles and Los Angeles Fire Engines will signal the start of the parade. KOST 103.5 FMmorning show host Mark Wallengren and comedian Mark Wahlberg will introduce musical performers during the pre-parade concert.  Singers who will perform in during the parade include:  JP Long and Makayla Colonello, who hails from Franklin, TN and won The Hollywood Christmas Parade’s First Annual National Singing Competition for singers under the age of 19, will make her debut performing in Hollywood by appearing in the parade.

During the course of the parade there will be several Award Presentations.

HALLMARK GOLD CROWN will present $1.5 Million in Product Donations and Funds to Lt. General Pete Osman, President and CEO of Marine Toys for Tots Foundation. The award will be presented by Mark Steines and Christina Ferrare, Co-Hosts of Home & Family on the Hallmark Channel.

The Hollywood Christmas Parade will honor American Rock Icon Ritchie Sambora with the First Annual Stars Give Back Award for his service to the community, The Hollywood Christmas Parade and Toys for Tots. Sambora’s award will be presented by Lt. General Pete Osman, President and CEO of Marine Toys for Tots.

Councilmember Tom LaBonge, 4th District, City of Los Angeles, Los Angeles City Council will be honored by The Hollywood Christmas Parade for his support and leadership to the Hollywood community and The Hollywood Christmas Parade.  LaBonge’s award will be presented by the parade’s Co-Hosts, Laura McKenzie and Erik Estrada.

The Hollywood Christmas Parade will also honor television show, Days of our Lives, which will be kicking-off their 50th Anniversary on NBC in the parade riding on a Starline Tours double-decker bus, featuring the NEW 50th Anniversary logo.  Twenty-seven of the show’s stars will be riding in the parade as part of a yearlong celebration of the daytime drama’s milestone achievement.

There will be Three Floats in the parade:  The Way To Happiness, Miss Hispanidad and the Santa Claus float.

One of the easiest ways to get to the parade is to take Metro.  There are two stations (Hollywood Boulevard/Highland Avenue and Hollywood Boulevard/Vine Street) located on the parade route.  Please visit www.metro.net for more information.

Parking is always a premium in Hollywood.  The best place to park is in one of the Grant Parking lots throughout Hollywood or at the Hollywood & Highland Shopping Complex.  Most lots are paid parking – please contact the individual lot for pricing.
