On Saturday, April 19, 2014 Sant Nirankari Mission (SNM), a global organization, hosted a Celebration of Unity in Diversity at Norwalk, CA. The purpose was to celebrate the beauty of various cultures and backgrounds coming together. This celebration was held at the Sant Nirankari Mission Center at 13906 San Antonio Dr, Norwalk, CA 90650.
This free event was open to all and embraced unity in diversity in many ways. The first half of the event included free yoga, dance and singing classes. The first segment also entailed presentations from speakers representing various groups and faiths, including Catholic Missionary Society Los Angeles, Bengali community, Bhramkumaris, Art of Living, Pashupatinath Foundation, Buddists, Sindhu Association, Fairview Community Church, Alzheimer’s Association, American Red Cross, and Sant Nirankari Mission. The event was also attended by local dignitaries such as Todd S. Rogers, Mayor of City of Lakewood and Assistant Sheriff of Los Angeles County.
The second half of the event brought forward diversity in the form of an entertaining musical evening. Throughout the day all were cheering the slogan “Unity Rocks” and during this segment many artists truly rocked the evening. These artists included musician Will Marsh on sitar and guitar, Leonice Shinemann on tabla, Nitesh Bhasin singing “sufi” (soul) songs, Kamal Khan singing Bollywood hits with Siddharth Srinivasan on guitar and Toddius Maximus on djembe, and DeLon engaging the audiences with his Rap.
The event had great food throughout the day, provided by Sant Nirankari Mission. SNM volunteers also offered free medical and legal services and free eye exams.
Unity in Diversity is just one of the many beautiful messages SNM promotes. We look forward to more such exciting events from SNM and join them in pushing out the needed messages of Unity, Love and Peace.

About The Sant Nirankari Mission: The Sant Nirankari Mission is an all embracing spiritual movement, cutting across all divisions of caste, color, and creed.
The Mission seeks to reveal God, also known as Nirankar, to all human beings irrespective of their religious faith, sect, or community and thus liberate them from the shackles of ignorance, superstition, ritualism, and dogmatism in the name of devotion to God.
It firmly believes that the realization of God is the real objective of human life and this can be achieved only through the benevolence of the living true master: the Satguru..
The realization of God not only maintains balance between spirituality and materialism in day to day life, but also takes a person to the cherished achievement of brotherhood of mankind which leads to peaceful coexistence.
The meditation here is to feel the existence of God all of the time and everywhere. The Mission also emphasizes the need and importance of the company of fellow enlightened beings (Satsang) and selfless service to humanity (Sewa). For more information visit http://nirankari.org
