Beverly Hills, CA, Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2014. …..At the Beverly Hills Hotel 9641 Sunset Boulevard, Beverly Hills, California 90210, Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao assured the media that a much “younger” and energetic Manny Pacquiao will defeat Timothy Bradley on April 12 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas at their world welterweight championship rematch. He announced it at the Feb.4, 2014 press conference of the fight.
Pacquiao stressed that he respects Bradley. “I am impressed by his last two fights. He’s improved a lot in his fight against Marquez, I think. He can box and he’s tough. There will be more action in the ring. I am thankful to God that I have another chance to fight aggressive. We have to train hard. “ Pacquiao said.
Timothy “Desert Storm” Bradley pointed out that the rematch is redemption for the boxer. “It is coming to terms. I’m gonna beat Pacquiao. He’s gonna be fierce but I feel that I will be victorious. When I step out there in the ring, I will win,” he said.
When Pacquiao and Bradley first fought on June 9, 2012 at MGM Grand, Bradley won via a controversial split decision, ending Pacquiao’s welterweight reign as well as his seven-year 15-bout winning streak. Neither of them was satisfied. Many clamored for a rematch after the fight. Now these top two pugilists will settle the controversy on April 12.
“For Paquiao who defeated Rios, it means getting back his title. “I am prepared to endure my hardest training camp even to win this fight against Bradley. As always, I dedicate this fight to my countrymen throughout the world and to bring glory to the Philippines, “Pacquiao emphasized.
Hall of Fame trainer Freddie Roach added that Tim Bradley is one of the toughest guys in the world. “Tim looked even better when he won his last fight with Marquez. Manny and I have our work cut out for us to successfully challenge him on April 12,” Roach said further.
For Pacquiao it is not going to be an easy fight, considering that Bradley beat Marquez who knocked down Pacquiao. But the boxing congressman from the Philippines is hungry to win back the WBO welterweight title from Bradley and prove to the world that he is the real champ!
Pacquiao from Sarangani province is the only fighter to win eight world titles in as many divisions. No active boxer has sold more live tickets in the U.S. than Pacman. He is also credited with more than 12 million pay per view buys.
Bradley returns to the ring after two recent consecutive victories winning over Ruslan Provodnikov last March and defeating Mexican icon Juan Marquez on October 12, 2013.
