Mary Ann Omega’s Presidential Speech:
Hon. Helen Barber dela Vega, our Phil Consul Gen of LA,
Hon. Jim Dear, Mayor of City of Carson,
Distinguished Guests, Ladies and Gentlemen:
I am pleased to welcome you to our event this evening.
I am humbled and proud to announce that our Filipino American Chamber of
Commerce of LA have grown tremendously this year. We are now in our 12th
year and still growing strong.
Manny people are asking what is the secret of our Chamber’s success? I believe
it’s in the 4 C’s : COMMITMENT, COMMUNICATION, COOPERATION, &
CONTRIBUTION.
We encourage you to utilize the many services offered by our Chamber. As in
all successful organizations, we rely on voluntary participation and dedication
of our members to accomplish our goals. We hope you will become involved in
one of our many projects. It is through the participation our members that
projects are developed and services improved.
The prime responsibility of the Chamber is to strengthen and promote the
Filipino-American business community of LA and its surrounding areas, and to
accomplish goals and objectives for its best interest.
My plan for this year is to continue building our success with our monthly
Networkings events, Workshops, Business Mixers, Business Expo, Job and career
fairs and to help our Kababayan get into new enterprises. . . . . To continue to
collaborate with our community partners such as VEDC, UCC, ABA-LA, LBA, and
collaborate with our SISTERS CHAMBER organizations. This year our Chamber is
hosting the FPACC Bi-National Conference on November 8,9, 10. Noel Omega,
the Federation VP of National Conference and Ben Menor, the Federation’s
Chief Strategic Facilitator will talk about this plan in a few minutes.
In the past, we have partnered with Ayala Foundation, APAIT, and last year
with ABS-CBN Foundation. This year, we are looking to partner with deserving
charitable institutions particularly to educated and open doors for the young
and beginning entrepreneurs.
We look forward to be working with you during my term. Thank you for joining
me tonight!
