Donovan Leitch Jr. of “Hedwig and the Angry Inch” to Preside over the Annual West Hollywood Halloween Carnaval.
Donovan Leitch Jr. who plays Hedwig, star of the glam rock musical “Hedwig and the Angry Inch,” has been named the Honorary Mayor of the West Hollywood Halloween Carnaval on Wednesday, October 31, 2012. One of the world’s largest celebrations of All Hallow’s Eve, the West Hollywood Halloween Costume Carnaval, will be held from 6 p.m .to 11 p.m. along Santa Monica Boulevard from Doheny Drive to La Cienega Boulevard.
Hedwig is played by actor Donovan Leitch, Jr. Leitch was the understudy for the original off-Broadway performances of the rock musical, “Hedwig and the Angry Inch,” and was the lead in a recent Los Angeles run of the play. He is the son of ‘60s folk singer Donovan. “Hedwig and the Angry Inch” premiered off Broadway in 1998 and was later made into a film. The play tells the story of an East German transgender rock star, Hedwig and her search for love.
ENTERTAINMENT LINEUP
The West Hollywood Halloween Carnaval will include three large stages featuring various themes and entertainers:
The Drag Hotel of Horrors stage on Santa Monica Boulevard and San Vicente Boulevard will feature a fun rock and roll drag show with campy burlesque and pyrotechnics. Jeffrey Damnit will emcee the stage. Performers at the Drag Hotel of Horrors stage will include Hedwig and the Angry Inch; Tranzcontinental; Helles Belles; and Fire Groove.
The Dungeon of Sin stage located at Santa Monica Boulevard and Almont Drive will feature the performers, The Sideshow Sirens; Barbie’s Addiction; and Vaud and the Villains. Andy from Vaud and the Villians will emcee the stage.
The Thrills and Chills stage located at Santa Monica Boulevard and La Cienega Boulevard will include performances by Zen Freeman; The Orchestre Surreal; and Miss Barbie-Q.
The three small DJ stages will encourage audience interaction. DJ Max Von Ville will perform at The Demon Dance Club Stage, located at Westbourne Drive and Santa Monica Boulevard; DJ Moses Truzman will perform at theTurntable of Terror Stage, located at North Palm Drive and Santa Monica Boulevard; and DJ Aaron Colbert will spin at the Undead Dance Hall Stage located on North La Peer Drive and Santa Monica Boulevard.
HALLOWEEN CARNAVAL PARKING INFORMATION
Public parking for the West Hollywood Halloween Costume Carnaval will be available at parking lots throughout West Hollywood.
The City of West Hollywood will suspend permit parking for the Halloween Carnaval from 11 a.m. Wednesday, October 31, 2012 to 6 a.m., Thursday, November 1, 2012. Meters will be enforced.
Carnaval-goers are asked to observe the boundaries of West Hollywood; if parking occurs in the City of Los Angeles, all parking restrictions must be observed.

The City of West Hollywood will be offering a CityLine service on Halloween during the usual hours of 5:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. The route will operate along Santa Monica Boulevard between La Cienega Boulevard and Fuller Avenue and Sunset Boulevard between La Cienega Boulevard and Horn Avenue.
