GROUNDBREAKING YOUNG STAR FRANK OCEAN TAKES THE STAGE FOR HIS DEBUT VMA PERFORMANCE. The Wanted, Andy Samberg, Rashida Jones, 2 Chainz and Ke$ha Added To Line-Up of VMA Presenters.
On Monday, August 27, 2012 MTV announced international sensation and five-time 2012 VMA nominee, Rihanna will heat up the “MTV Video Music Awards” stage with a performance like never before, LIVE from STAPLES Center on Thursday, September 6 at 8:00pm ET/PT. Innovative “Best New Artist” nominee, Frank Ocean, makes his VMA debut to deliver the kind of performance that has made him one of the most buzzed about artists of the year. Additionally, The Wanted, Andy Samberg, Rashida Jones, 2 Chainz and Ke$ha have been added to the power player list of star VMA presenters which includes Miley Cyrus, Wiz Khalifa, Mac Miller and the “Fierce Five,” the U.S. Women’s Olympics Gymnastics Team that won the team gold medal at the 2012 Olympic Games. Hosted by comedian Kevin Hart, the “2012 MTV Video Music Awards” will also feature previously announced performers Taylor Swift, Green Day, P!nk, Alicia Keys and One Direction.

Since the first MTV “Video Music Awards” aired in 1984, the VMAs instantly earned its reputation for delivering the most popular bands and artists to create the loudest, most influential and at times, the most controversial, annual live celebration of music in the world. The “2012 MTV Video Music Awards” will air across MTV’s global network of more than 60 channels reaching more than 600 million households around the world as well as through syndication. In addition, its convergent programming and content will reach the entire interactive community, via MTV’s more than 200 digital media properties around the world. Ratings for the 2011 VMAs were up +30% YOY internationally, and the show was one of MTV’s top performers in key markets across Europe, Latin America, Asia and Australia.
